It’s unfortunate to read the previous reviewer’s 1-star review since mine was actually a “perfect fit.” My department won’t allow us to mount red dot sights on any On Duty or personally-owned Off Duty pistols that don’t have an OEM Factory-milled slide, so I did some horse trading with another deputy in my department for his “like new” P229 Legion with the factory cut RX Pro slide. After reading about Kently4242’s bad results with his ACRO P2/CHPWS plate attempt a few days after I had made that deal, I was a little reluctant to try my luck on the CHPWS plate, but Thomas in Customer Service assured me that they would allow me to return it if my ACRO P2 also fit poorly. I watched the CHPWS YouTube videos and followed their instructions, including “painting” around the plate screws and then allowing sufficient curing time for the the Loctite and oil based parker pens prior to applying witness marks, etc. I just got back from the Range, and I’m pleased to report that everything worked perfectly. The ACRO is dialed in, and I’m looking forward to adding the P229 to my Department Qualification list at our next Firearms Qualifications.

Does NOT work with Acro p-2. With screw tightened as much as possible, it results in a VERY loose rattle in the optic. Does not engage with the actual locking mechanism… the cutouts for the plate to gun screws I think prevent engagement of the locking piece.

This plate DOES, however, work with the steiner MPS, which is what I eventually just settled on swapping onto the gun while putting the new acro onto the gun that the mps used to be on. Sort of a bummer but given the similar review on the other sig plate, I suspect this is not a qc issue and there was some sort of design change between the P1 and the P2 that precludes the P2 from working with any of CHPWS’s sig plates. Bummer.
