2011 / 1911 / STI SLIDE OPTIC MILLING SERVICE

From: $129.00

All slides are evaluated when they arrive to determine that an optics cut can be safely milled into the slide.  If we determine your slide cannot be upgraded, we’ll send it back to you at no charge and issue a complete refund.

Any 2011/1911/STI series 80 slide that has a safety plunger/firing pin block CANNOT be milled for any optic or adapter plate due to the cut going into the safety plunger/firing pin block cavity. The only exception is the Lionheart Regulus due to the cavity for the firing pin block not extending into the cut area.

We cannot mill any .22 caliber 1911 slides.

**The pictures of each modification are an example of what only choosing that modification will look like on the slide. Modifications performed may not look exactly as depicted depending on your slide model and the combination of serrations, windows, and/or pockets you chose.

**The CHPWS EDC-RMSc/EDC Enclosed/C&H Max, Holosun 407K / 507k/EPS, Shield RMSc, Sig RomeoZero/RomeoZero Elite/RomeoX Compact (Romeo Zero Pro and R cannot be direct milled) Vortex Defender-CCW (Defender-ST and XL cannot be direct milled) and Trijicon RMRcc can be direct milled to your slide without an adapter plate.  All other optics must be mounted with the CHPWS cross plate.

**The Agency Optic System (AOS) cut can only be milled in slides that have no rear sight dovetail or a standard rear sight dovetail. This cut cannot be milled into slides that have a BOMAR rear sight cut or other adjustable rear sight cuts that are low at the rear of the slide and cut into the firing pin retaining plate.

**All 1911/2011 milling requires the rear dovetail to be milled away. Most CHPWS cross plates and AOS plates incorporate a built in back up iron sight.

** Most 1911/2011/STI slides are milled to the depth of the base of the rear sight dovetail or BOMAR cut for direct mill or cross plates. Slides with a shallow rear sight dovetail or no dovetail are milled to a depth of .200″ from the top of the slide if possible. This is to ensure the cut is flat and screw holes are milled properly. For slides with a deep dovetail this can mean some thinner base direct mount optics may have the bottom of the window slightly below the top of the slide and make optic integrated rear sights sit too low to be usable with stock front sights.

  1. JUSTIN TSIKERDANOS

Shipped in my slide for milling after local company didn’t feel comfortable with the job
They called when they received my slide and confirmed the job at hand
A week and a half later it was on my door step
Quality work and a great turn around

  2. Eugene Teeter

The slide milling was done very well and very fast. The turn around time was much shorter than expected. However, C&H also mounted my Vortex Defender XL that I sent with the slide per their recommendation. I did not include a battery for the optic. This optic was brand new and had never been mounted or used. I checked it with a battery first to make sure it worked and then removed the battery before sending to C&H. When I got the slide back the optic was mounted but would not work. I had to send it back to Vortex to be repaired under warranty. According to Vortex they found a bent/displaced contact in the battery compartment. This caused a major delay in getting to test the pistol since I had to wait for the Vortex repair. If I had it to do over again I would not send the optic. I am convinced that C&H caused the battery problem.

  3. Jerzees1

I got 1911 slide milled for C&H-EDC optic. Slide was parkerized so I decided to finish cutout with cerakote. Absolutely fantastic job done by C&H Milling Team!
Their Customer Service is incredible. I received clear answers for every question asked before sending my slide to them. Thank you C&H !

  4. Steve Cutter

I had a direct mount cut to my 1911 slide for a Holosun K series and could not be happier. The optic fits snug so the screws are clamping down the optic not carrying the load in regard to shear strenth. After placing the optic in the cut, I could actually turn the slide upside down without screws and optic stayed in place. CH Precision provided quick turn around and good communication. I highly recommend them if you are looking for slide milling work.

  5. Hanford Erickson

Had my wife’s 3 inch 1911 carry gun milled for a Holosun EPS Carry red dot and cerekoted. The milling in a word is absolutely “perfect”. Incredible work done, and fabulous customer service.

    Thank You C&H!
